What Faculty at UCR Need to Know
We’re thankful you are here! EH&S is here to help you succeed in your research and we would like you to help us make it easier for you. This page serves as a guide to the activities you can do to help create and maintain a safe and healthy environment where the UCR community can thrive in their personal and professional development.
Your Responsibilities
The faculty has the following responsibilities:
- Be familiar with the Guide to Health, Safety and Environmental Responsibilities for Researchers
- Review UCR’s emergency procedures
- Be familiar with UCR policies and Environmental Health and Safety programs that address potential hazards
- Report hazardous conditions and releases to the environment
- Establish a strong safety culture and follow all environmental health and safety procedures
- Ensure that proper personal protective equipment is used when needed
- Investigate and report all accidents/injuries and request medical treatment if required
We recommend you take the General Safety Orientation for an overview of campus safety policies, programs and resources. If you have or work in a lab, you and your employees* need to take the Laboratory Safety Orientation. We also recommend that you visit the Supervisors portal if you have employees* under your direction.
We want the UCR community to be safe and healthy. Please contact us with suggestions to make this page more useful for you.
* All faculty, staff, students, volunteers, and guests performing work on or for the UCR campus.
